Anxiety Doesn’t Always Look Like Panic

Sometimes anxiety looks like panic.
But a lot of the time, it looks like:

  • overthinking every conversation
  • irritability, snapping, or shutting down
  • stomach aches, headaches, tight chest
  • perfectionism or “I’ll do it later” avoidance
  • needing constant reassurance
  • feeling exhausted for no “real” reason

Anxiety is your nervous system trying to protect you — even when there isn’t a current threat.

A gentle reset (try this now)

  • Unclench your jaw.
  • Drop your shoulders.
  • Exhale longer than you inhale (in 4, out 6) x 5 rounds.
  • Tell yourself: “I’m safe enough in this moment.”

If you’re reading this and thinking “that’s me,” you’re not broken. You’re human.

What does anxiety look like for you — racing thoughts, body symptoms, avoidance, or something else?
